Our favourite days out from Warrenside Cottage!

Our top tips on local days out!

If you love being at one with nature, you will love it here! Warrenside Cottage backs directly onto the Warrenside Forest, which is mainly planted with Pine Trees and is a great place to walk or cycle around. Or just relax in the private garden and watch the wildlife from the comfort of your patio chair.

You don’t have to venture too far for even more delights of nature. The Donna Nook Seal Sanctuary is just a mile away

Seal Sanctuary (1 Mile)

Donna Nook is home to a colony of grey seals during the winter months where they come onto the Lincolnshire beaches to breed. Britain has about 40% of the world population of grey seals and it’s becoming an increasingly important habitat.

Oasis Lakes (5 Minute Walk)

Three Lakes set in a nine acre complex offer a tranquil and relaxing fishing holiday in superb surroundings. They provide day tickets for fishing (you can just turn up and purchase onsite). Or call Oasis Lakes on 01507 358 488

Lincolnshire Wolds Railway (7 Miles)

Situated in a beautiful part of Lincolnshire in countryside between the Wolds and the coast, LWR is only a short distance from North Somercotes, the seaside resort of Cleethorpes and the historic market town of Louth.

Lincoln (44 Miles – about an hour’s drive)

Visit Lincoln’s cultural quarter, in the heart of the city centre, where you can take in the culture of the theatre or discover Lincoln’s history. Spanning the east of the city centre and the south entrance to Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter, you’ll find theatre, museums, art, music, cuisine, bars and cafes. Whether spending the afternoon in a vibrant cafe, or wandering round the Cultural Quarter, Lincoln has plenty to keep you interested both during the day and at night.

Mablethorpe (12 Miles)

Mablethorpe, a great town for traditional seaside holidays on the Lincolnshire Coast, has Blue Flag award winning sandy beaches stretching for miles. Safe and friendly, Mablethorpe is perfect for a family holiday and just as popular with more mature visitors during term time. There’s plenty of attractions and events, lots of things to do, no shortage of bars and restaurants to enjoy.
